Event host & DJ · Prague · In English
Your event has one job: to be remembered.
So do I.
Clients who trusted me with their event
What I do
Openings, speeches, panels, awards, the party afterwards — and the five minutes in between when nobody knows what happens next. That is where an event breaks.
I am not a comedian with jokes from the internet and not a speaker with a slide deck. I am the person who connects every part of the evening into one whole — and makes sure the stars are your people on stage, not the host.
01 — Conferences
I keep the day on time, introduce speakers so people want to listen, moderate panels with questions that have a point, and keep the room awake after lunch. Hundreds of live interviews on air — from Armin van Buuren to the Czech President.
02 — Gala & awards
Names pronounced correctly, guests introduced in the right order, dozens of award categories with tempo and emotion instead of a read-out list. Black tie or hoodie — whatever the evening needs.
03 — most requested
When the programme ends, I do not hand the microphone to a DJ who waited in the corner all night. I step behind the decks myself. One person holds the words and the music from the opening to the last track.
And when there is more: I design the run of show for the whole evening and bring proven people for sound, lights and show — so you manage one supplier, not five.
Where I have hosted in English
A selection of international events hosted in English or bilingually.
Regular meetings of the Czech business community in the UAE — panels, company presentations, networking. Over ten years with the same client.
Announcement of the architectural competition for the Czech national pavilion at the World Expo. Diplomats, architects, media — bilingual, protocol-heavy, every name has to be right.
Full-day European training and show for distributors in an arena. Thousands of participants, programme timed to the minute, in English.
Event for the Czech House in Manhattan — Czech and English for a mixed audience.
Hosting stops of an international golf tour — gala dinners and award evenings for players and partners.
Conferences, kick-offs and gala evenings for international companies based in Prague — bilingual when the room is mixed, without saying everything twice.

Why me
Radio is a live interview every day, exact timing and an audience that must not switch off. An event is the same — with the people in the room.
“We have worked with Ondřej for over ten years. An absolute professional you can rely on. He can take on any event and present the product perfectly — and he is modest and keeps his word.” (translated from Czech)

“Ondřej’s professional approach and his ability to keep the audience engaged created an unforgettable atmosphere at our events. He wins over a young crowd as well as the audience of formal events such as theatre galas.” (translated from Czech)

Fee
Base rate for an evening of up to five hours in Czech, including consultation on the run of show and the script. Hosting in English is quoted on top — tell me the date and I will send exact numbers within 24 hours.
You get a firm quote within 24 hours. It depends on:
Prices exclude VAT. Invoicing in CZK or EUR by a Czech company (vdn consulting, s.r.o.). PA system and microphones are provided by the organiser; as a DJ I bring my own deck, not speakers.
Questions clients ask
Yes. I host events fully in English — conferences, gala dinners, award ceremonies — and bilingually for mixed audiences, without repeating everything twice. I studied English at the College of English Languages in Santa Monica, California, and I host regularly in Dubai and across Europe.
Yes. I regularly host in Dubai, and I have hosted in Osaka, New York, Poland, Croatia, Saint-Tropez and Ireland. Travel is added to the fee.
Yes — and it is what most clients book. I host the day, host the gala and then step behind the decks. One person, one point of contact, no handovers between suppliers.
We go through the goal, the programme, the speakers and the sensitive points four weeks ahead. Two weeks ahead you get a script with timings, speaker introductions and panel questions to comment on. A week ahead I coordinate with your production and sound engineer.
The programme with timings, speaker names and bios, contacts for production and the sound engineer — and a few sentences on what the audience should take away. That is what I build introductions and questions around.
CZK 35,000 (about EUR 1,400) excluding VAT is the base rate for hosting an evening of up to five hours in Czech, including preparation. Hosting in English, full conference days, DJ sets and travel are quoted on top. Full days, more panels, DJ sets and travel increase the fee. Send me the date, venue and programme — you get a firm quote within 24 hours.
Two to three months for corporate events, up to six months for December dates. But do ask at short notice — dates sometimes free up. A date is confirmed only after a signed contract or an accepted order.
As a host, no — I arrive with my voice, the script and the preparation. A quality PA system and quality wireless microphones are provided by the organiser or the venue. As a DJ I bring my own DJ deck, but not speakers: I play through the venue's sound system. In both cases, please put me in touch with the sound engineer beforehand — we will agree on the technical set-up so nothing surprises anyone on the night. No engineer? I can bring a trusted one, just mention it in your enquiry.
Through a Czech company, vdn consulting, s.r.o., in CZK or EUR, with a standard EU VAT invoice.
